Report #06 Stage 06 Tibniya > Cairo
October 6(Local date), the last day of The Pharaons Cross Country Rally 2012 finally came. Jun started from 4th and the stage was clipped 40 km due to road surface.
Jun charged to the sand dune area with MINI of overall standings 1st following behind. He was moving to fast on the sand dune but unfortunately his car fall the dip of the sand dune. The front grill and the bumper got major damage. Car No.2 of TLC came to the accident location soon and the car No.2 pulled out Jun’s Land Cruiser from the sand. Jun didn’t lost much time for the accident.
Jun said “Nicolas(Car No.2) pulled out my car quickly and the teamwork saved me. I felt confident that there is the car No.2 right here”
2 Land cruisers rendezvous after that and they crossed the finish line. When 150 km liaison ended, they stood on the podium in front of the pyramids.
Jun said “I’m so glad with honesty that we won in the class, because I retired this rally last year. I want to try to the Dakar Rally in this vein”

価値ある優勝ですね。勝った上に得たものもあったなんてこれ以上ない経験だったじゃないですか。アランはナビでコドライバーで先達でもあるような、良いコンビネーションですね。写真は「走るぞ!」という気迫が漂っています。
今更なんですが、クロスカントリーラリーって、山登りと似ているところがありますね。想像よりもずっと山あり谷ありだし、マラソンで縦走登山しているような、車だけど。登山もラリーもしたことありませんが、そう思いました。
